Catch bullets with your teeth

Murs & Slug - The two [Access hip hop / Rhymesayers, 2002]
Two gigantic emcees collaborates. The album "Felt" is, as could be expected, a heavy hitter. My favorite track from that release is this one by far. Pretty obstinate rhythm for a hiphop track, but works really well with Slug's and Murs' rhyming. Thought it was time for a bit of hiphop again.

Miskate -
Afterblaster [Microcosm, 2007]
From Pittsburgh but now a Philly resident, Kate Iwanowicz makes girly house. Haha, no, I'm just kidding. It's damn hot and solid minimal techno, with a deep touch. "Afterblaster", the title track, kicks of the release with an answering machine recording of some dude. Of course it's tweaked and processed and as the beat bites and claws along, the result a surreal and druggy experience. Waking up at 11 in the morning in some big city, still feeling very weird, it's hot outside. Your memory all blurred. Did you have the oddest dream or was that fragments from last night?
