Maps

Good morning clubbahz! "Don't fear, the sun, feel like someone".

Maps - Don't fear [Mute, 2007] (buy)
Maps - It will find you
[Mute, 2007]
New discovery for me, this Maps fellow, James Chapman. Shoegazer indie-pop-tronica (genre malfunction). Grand, beautiful and well constructed. Arrangements and a sound palette to die for. Maps' debut album "We can create" was released not long ago (the 14th of May to be precise) on Mute Records, it made me check out his earlier EPs. Pretty music with handsome cover art too. (Vinyl release of the album is on awesome format 2x10"!)

Dedicated to Karin!

Rekorder 8 - [Rekorder 2007]

Three solid tracks in there latest release the first since 2006 rekorder make harsh sounding dark club friendly electro / techno Worth checking there earlier releases aswell .

Pantha Du Prince - "Butterfly Girl" - (Sten Version) - [Dial Records 2005]

Next is the bring it back post i reckon there may be a few of you who let this slip past you like a ship in the night its from back in 2005 but still sounds as fresh as it did then today its by (pantha du prince) the tracks called "butterfly girl" and the remix is by (Sten) which can be found on the [Dial Records] label its a hypnotic groovy minimal track that instantly makes your ears prick up.

Murat Tepeli - "Jaws" - [Ostgut Ton 2007]

Last but not least is a track on the [Ostgut ton label] called "Jaws" by an artist called (Murat Tepeli )nice deep minimal bass groover with rhythm, has a good appeal for all you tech house heads out there.

ALL can be found at https://www.beatport.com/
Have a good weekend everyone!

Paperclip people

Those of you who are aware of the classic "E2E4" by (Manuel Gottsching) will appreciate what (Carl Craig) Aka (paperclip people) did on the remake back in 1994 making manuels hour or so long epic accesible from a djs perspective, reworking it using the same samples as Manuel and never losing focus an instant classic was born.
Paperclip People - "Remake Duo" (Eich. Me. Son. Sche) -[1994 Planet E]
http://www.zshare.net/audio/remake-duo-mp3.html

D.A.N.C.E 2 MSTRKRFT

I have been in two minds whether or not to post this since justice are the most blogged about band ever in the history of blogging and i think its actually a bit of a cliche but hey... Best remix of "D.A.N.C.E" to date in my opinion great remix from the mstrkrft boys play loud and jump around !

Justice - D.A.N.C.E -(MSTRKRFT Remix) - [Cdr]

Dahlbäck slides

John Dahlbäck - I slide [Pickadoll, 2007] (buy)
"Only" 22 years old and already a sick amount of releases out on high quality and prestigious labels. Impressing to say the least. One of Sweden's finest, here John represents his very own label Pickadoll records with a heavy tech house banger. It's dirty and certain to rock any sound system with that rugged bass, the female vocals fits nicely on top. I definetly wouldn't mind this track extended a few minutes.

Music to buy mid may

Thou Shalt Always Kill

Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip - "Thou Shalt Always Kill" - (Original) [lexx Recordings]
Excellent electronic influenced Hip Hop from the UK listen with a smile :-)

Late Bloomers

Guy Gerbers new album "Late Bloomers" Dropped last week on the [Cocoon Recordings] label here we have a nice track lifted from it called "Seagull" (Make sure to check out the whole release)

Guy Gerber - "Seagull" - [Cocoon Recordings]

Inca

Minilogue do it again this is genius an outstanding piece of music, one of the best i have heard for a while im literally lost for words. The way they build the record is sublime creating tension in all the right places 9 mins in almost sounds like your being sucked into a wind turbine and spat back out slowly building back up again with an uncomfortable quiet, but noticable whistling noise throughout creating that little bit more edgy tension to the track, one of the best releases this year.

Hera Field

Gui Boratto - Hera (The Field remix) [Kompakt, 2007] (buy)
Brazil meets Sweden in an euphoric re-edit, turning one of Chromophobia's hits into a The Field signature styled creature. Layered recordings, half drifting, half sharp and focused, always going. A train ride among frosty landscapes.

I can ensure all our visitors a flurry of posts coming up this week. I get dizzy just by looking at all the drafts JBH has done write ups of. I'll try to squeeze a few in there too (despite my crazy schedule), don't worry; expect RC to be on digital fire.

Good night.

More Huntemann

Two Tracks taken from his debut album "Fieber" Which i figured may have passed you by, One track which features a favorite here at "RC" Mr (Stephan Bodzin) who collaborates with him on "Matchbox" then we have Huntemann on his own with "Rottodrom" Filthy late night electro of the highest quality.

No Pressure

I Suppose it had to happen sooner rather than later and thank god it did two of the uk's most talented djs / producers have teamed up as (One + One) yes im talking about those two wizards (James Zabiela) & (Nic Fanciulli) if you have had the pleasure of seeing either of these djs i think its fair to say you will have been amazed & now they have joined forces to make an unstoppable force the world is theres (No it literally is) check out where there playing in the coming months on there Myspace & if there near you i wouldnt hesitate in going to see them. Here we have a track entitled "No Pressure" taken from there new "ep" (No Pressure / Rover)

James Zabiela & Nic Fanciulli - "No Pressure" - [Ministry Of Sound]

Chemical Huntemann Does It Again

Great New Remix of the (Chemical Brothers) latest single "Do It Again" Remixed by the dark electro master (Oliver Huntemann) you could say its a water into wine remix i certainly think so. Theres also a rather tasty remix from (Audion) on the cdr so its worth searching for.

Chemical Brothers - "Do It Again" - (Oliver Huntemann Remix) - [Promo]

Warming up

New (Booka Shade) & (Carl Craig) now on "RC" "Platypus" taken from (Booka Shades) latest ep "Tickle / karma Car" Now i think i prefer this to the previous two, very groovy minimal and techy with a nice drum pattern throughout, The master is back yes (Carl Craig) is back remixing an Ex (Sugar Babe) of all the people to remix (Siobhan Donaghy) He hits us with a dub mix of "Dont Give It up" you know what to expect by now! The highest standard of work and a very detroit like sounding record i would be interested to hear what the original sounds like, Anyway NEW music is coming thick & fast for us here on "RC" maybe because its the run up to Ibiza im not sure but (Villalobos) has new music on the way as do (Cobblestone Jazz) (Martin Buttrich) (Loco Dice) (SuperMayer) & More its going to be another good summer for music keep it locked!

Lets Go Back! Way Back. Back into time...

Dont need to write alot about these next tracks most of you should have them anyway, just listen too them and enjoy! Acid house was the music, late 80,s early 90,s was the year Ecstasy was the drug Warehouses were the venues and this was the music.

Mista Theychx

Lazy sunday evening post. Tomorrow it's the dreaded monday. Cheer up with some music.

Fuse - Theychx [Warp, 1993]
Richard Hawtin 1993 vs 2007. Far from the superstar dj he is today, far from the nose bleed techno. Fuse's album "Dimension intrusion" showcases Hawtin's early talent and wide arsenal of musical styles. Everything from the depraved and banging acid techno track "Substance abuse" to this beautiful and meditative ambient piece. Pure bliss on many levels. "What's wrong?", "For more enjoyment and greater efficiency", "Take four red capsules, in ten minutes take two more". Solid classic.

Tensnake - I say Mista [Mirau, 2007] (buy)
Ambient not your thing, not even when it's from Richie? Well then, here's more Tensnake and more Mirau for you. This is from his new EP "I say Mista". Good tech house for your pleasure.

Composite profuse

Composite profuse - Children of Qana [Bunker, 2007] (buy)
Another slab of electro coming your way. Classic, hard and evil robotic sounding. Originating from Italy, this producer is wrecking shit. EP is called "Roma Aeterna".

Composite profuse - Crc666
[Creme Organisation, 2007]
More blazing stuff from Senior Composite. On the mysterious 'Nagasaki nightriders' acid/electro compilation, also featuring tracks by Cosmic Force, Orgue Electronique, Rude 66 and Beta evers.

FM Sage

Junior Boys - FM (Tensnake Remix) [Domino, 2007]
Like A Child (Carl Craig Remix) and Double Shadow (Kode 9 Remix) was two quite OK remixes. But here's the winner, hands down (I haven't heard the Hot Chip rmx though, hehe). Tensnake transforms the FM track into something very suitable for a packed dancefloor. Sweet, sweet rhythms.

Sage Francis - Black out on white night [Epitaph, 2007]
Sage Francis - Call me Francois [Epitaph, 2007]
Indie-nerd-hiphop! Finally more from our beloved Sage Francis, and a full packed album of him even - wohoo: "Human the death dance". Starts out strong with the first real track, 'Undeground for dummies' then continuing the onslaught with 'Civil obedience' and then just goes nuts from there - nuts as in crazy good; always catchy, but lyrics (rich on references) and flow that kills. Production contributed by giants such as Odd Nosdam, Ant, Buck 65, Alias and Sixtoo ensures vast differances in styles, still nothing that takes away from the 'plot' of the album. An artist and an album that's worth listening to as a whole, not just these tracks I've posted. Call me Francois being more uptempo while Black out on white night is pure melancholy.

Can I say

The Rice Twins - Can I say [K2, 2007] (buy)
New, easy going and poppy house 12" from the swedish rice duo on K2. Yup, more summertime music here on RC! The b-side 'Goatee' is slower and more of an after hours kind of trip. Apparently the rice twins also plays/played in a indiepop group... well, they sure know how to make pretty songs.

Everything Counts

Depeche Mode - "Everything Counts" - (Oliver Huntemann & Stephan Bodzin Dub) - [The Best Of Vol 1 Remixes Cdr]
This has been massive for me and my mates at afterpartys for the last year or so everytime you drop it the room goes off, if you havent already got it dont sleep on it ! *killer*

T.W.O.C

Chaim - "Popsky" - [Hifreaks]

Awesome trancey electro with a definate 80,s vibe running through out, sounds alot like Aril Brikha see if you can spot the sample, i heard it straight away he samples a track of a very well known film featuring Al pacino, il give you a clue " The world is yours"

http://www.zshare.net/audio/01-chaim-popsky-mp3.html

Drop It!

Math Head - "Drop It" - (Drop The Lime Dynasty Of Fury Remix) - [Cdr/Against All Odds Ep]
Math head makes dirty filthy electronic music look up his back catalogue for proof, this is a track thats been played to death on the breezeblock and rightly so, Math head comes out of New York & is also part of a crew "Trouble & Bass" which consists of Drop The Lime, Math Head, Z. Shadetek, Curses!, Star Eyes, Passions, The Captain & Shark they too make bass heavy beats.

Electro dosage 42 (feat scape & dynarec)

Scape One - Cosmic Waves [Southern outpost, 2006]
The electro sound spreads its mechanical tentacles, here from down below - Australia - via Scape One and his '06 Unstablebeatprotoncharacteristics EP. Monsieur Scape is safe in his sound. Top notch, precise production with all the elements you'd want in an electro joint. Put on your oxygen mask and travel to another planet in another galaxy (far, far away).

DynArec - Secret Tactics
[Vaporwave, 2007] (buy)
Dutch(?) constructor of finest electronic vibes, dynArec is back with a new EP: situated in and around dopplereffekt territory with slightly more danceable tunes. This is serious sub marine panzer radar business, aka Combat Elektro™. A wonderful release, "Lagomorph", that has two more superb songs; In your hand and the title track.

Azure Part 2

Skypher posted the wonderfull first part to "Azure" the other day so i thought it was my duty to post the second part and complete the jigsaw, excellent emotional electro coming from Slam Via the Soma camp.

Slam - "Azure Part 2" - [Soma 2007]

http://www.zshare.net/audio/slam-u-azure-part-2-mp3.html

Sadm Svek Pearl

Nice deep minimal subbass track now from Magda i dont think this will ever see the light of day

being on a promo not even on a label i did a search and all that came up was 9 replys normally it would be 900, Anyway its a great track / dj tool & comes with an excellent Mark Henning remix.
Magda -"Sadm Svek Pearl Loop" - [Promo]

Armed To The Rymd

When people think of Eric Prydz they instantly bring to mind "Call On Me" which was in the charts for i dont know how long & was very very commercial, then there is his recent effort where he samples Pink Floyds another brick in the wall, But what many people dont realise is beneath all the cheese lies a talented producer take his alias as (pryda) where he makes very good, House music almost progressive style house records, take these latest two "Armed" & "Rymd" or the now classic from him "Aftermath" the way he bulids the records is real! I expect both these will be played to death over the coming summer months.

Patrick 122

Here at random circuits we dont just like to stick to certain genres we like to mix it up a bit and with this next excellent effort from (Mr Oizo) i think its safe to say were mixing it up ! its had a whole lot of hype in the blogosphere & im not suprised wonky french electro with an extended saxophone :) i like it alot expect it to be big with the likes of justice and the ed banger crew & to cause huge tidle waves up and down the land from disco to disco, its not oficially out yet it will be in june though on [ed banger]

Mr Oizo - "Patrick 122" -(Extended Saxophone Break Edit) -[promo]

Silver Drumtrax

Christian Smith & John Selway - "Silver Bullet" - [Ovum Recordings]

Two tracks i figured may have passed you by and thats not a good thing both these tracks need to be heard the first coming from the [Ovum] camp and a track called "Silver Bullet" by (Christian Smith) and (John Selway) this really is full on techno ummph ummph when played loud on a decent sound system the end result is electric, everytime i have a mix at home i find a way to fit this in you should too!
Joakim - "Drumtrax" - (Radio Slave Remix) - [Versatile Records]
The second track comes from a favorite producer here at Random Circuits he goes by the name of (Matt edwards) Aka (Radio Slave) & he owns the excellent [Rekids] record label, Here he has remixed french producer (Joakims) "Drumtrax" added his own Special touch and never fails to deliver a great piece of music. Also he is bringing out a best of [Rekids] double cd out very soon which is worth looking into.

Arp and Jona

Bah, can't wait for tomorrow so here's another post. Great stuff!

Arp Aubert - Nipplegate (Original Mix)
[Mirau, 2007] (buy)
Mirau is one of those small, quirky and quality labels that consitently put out great material. I probably listened to Arp Aubert's Actress EP a billion times. Well it's time for new stuff from this German(?) duo. It's more of the same Mirau styled lush minimal/tech-house, all with a delicate feeling. From the EP "Yasminnje".

Jona - Evidence
[Get physical, 2007]
Jonathan Troupin is a producer from Belgium I'm not too familiar with. This is blissful minimal like we have come to expect on GPM. Misty and quite ambient in its melodic parts, backed by robust percussion and a firm bassline. A snug and pulsating emo-track. Don't know how I could've missed this one (instant favorite).

Cold Strobelight

Cold - Strobelight Network (Ananda & Eulberg remix) [Exacta.udio, 2007]
Posted before by JBH in one of his listening playlist posts, here's the file for download. Fancy remix by two of the big names, can it go wrong? Nah. Relentless, steady going, and flawless.

Was going to post a track from dynArec's latest output "Lagomorph" [Vaporwave] too but seems my files from it are slightly corrupt. It's great electro, so hold tight while I fetch fresh copies.

Azure

Slam - Azure (Part 1) (Original Mix) [Soma, 2007]
Almost ten minutes of energetic summertime soma-electro. Fresh like a cold citrus drink in the sun. Sounds a lot like Ulrich Schnauss if you ask me, and aye that's pretty damn coolio in my book.

Network love

Was going to save this post and track for tomorrow, but nah that would be cruel to those of you who haven't heard it. I dub this the official Friday-warm-up-to-party track of the month!

Stephan Bodzin - Kerosene
[Herzblut, 2007] (buy)
Bodzin has recently and quickly become my new darling producer. His album "Liebe ist..." is full of thick, hypnotic and melodic soundscapes. Packed with amazing build ups, breaks and hefty basslines I can't get enough of! 'Fahrenheit', 'Turbine', 'Sonnenwind', 'Liebe ist' - hell, all of it; each and everyone of them are top tracks.

Have a good weekend.

kicking Up A Stink

Iam in a very excitable mood today as we have decided to make our first pilgrimage to the all day party in london STINK run by Damian Lazarus & Micheal Mayer its a free party!!!... Lets face it we dont get too many off them especially with such a fantastic lineup its held in a bar the T bar which holds just under 200 give or take so it will be a nice intimate atmosphere with a line up to die for im especially keen on seeing Shackleton and his interpretation on techno & dubstep not to mention 1 half of Alter Ego Roman Flugel , Lazarus himself and all the rest its turning out to be a massive weekend of clubbing as on saturday its Gabriel Ananda at back to basics then on sunday its the Dirty Disco's 2nd bday party part 2 its so good they have 2 parts ! With Techno kingpin and all round wizard behind the wheels of steel, Dave Clake & Technasia headling amongst all that im actually missing out on partys in an around leeds with a few going on sunday & monday one of them being Mono - Cult its also Twaddles first bday who have shipped Andre Crom over to play his wonky techno thats on Tonight i may pop in to see what its like but really i want to save myself for the 4 hr journey down to london another hour or so getting to shoreditch and then having energy to party hard ! No point going all that way and feeling like shite ! The nice people on the t- bar website have hooked up the mixes that are played all live ( but without croud noises) & i must say there really good upfront deep hypnotic techno & minimal house worth a listen whilst you browse the net from site to site.

Lycanthropy Data Sapiens

Patrick Wolf - Paris [Faith and industry, 2004]
Patrick Wolf - To the Lighthouse
[Faith and industry, 2004]
Patrick Wolf's debut album was a fine purchase which I'm very glad I made. 'To the Lighthouse' is the instant folk-idm hit of the decade. 'Paris' are all wild and straggling oh so heart aching harmonies. Both should be listened to repeatedly.

I know I have been pretty vacant from the dancier electronic frontier. Therefore I shall include a little gift to those of you who aren't really into the experimental/idm mess.

Discemi - Data sapiens
[REKIDS, 2007] (buy)
Finns Jori Hulkkonen (love his Dualizm album) and Tuomas Salmela strike up another 12" together under the Discemi moniker (they released one on Get Physical 2006, 'Tango or cash'). Still in the minimal universe, and got those haunting melodies we all crave now and then. Flip side offers an epic 13 minute remix by Radio Slave. Brilliant title I must add, love it.

Brief post just to show that I am still alive. Weekend was fabolous but now a hectic week as begun and I am once again totally and utterly swamped by school and stuff. Good thing JBH keepin y'all busy with some quality tunes. Here's one for the 'floor:

John Dahlbäck - Multipower [Giant wheel, 2007] (buy)
From Power 2 EP. All good tracks. Buy. You know the drill :-)

See ya!

Disco Inferno

Goldfrapp - "Ride A White Horse" (Ewan Pearsons Disco Odyssey Parts 1 & 2) - [Mute 2007]

A 15 min deep disco swirly journey ......

Daytona Beach

Stephan Bodzin - "Daytona Beach" -[Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten]

After listening to this a few times i have come to notice that Bodzins production sounds like the real thing, being at daytona beach is where the super cars come to race and if you have ever been to a race circuit you will know how loud it is. The start of the track starts of slow and builds as an engine would then gradually builds up getting louder and louder eventually roaring round the track at full speed over taking everything in its way you almost get that sound as if you have been overtaken when you have your windows down thar vvvvrmph sound. Gradually slowing right back down as you come to the finish line and the engine is not at full power until you come to a stop, the only thing you can hear is the engine ticking over nicely and noises from the car as it cools down ...well thats my interpretation on it see what you think .

Nord-West

Jürgen Paape - "Nord-West" -[Kompakt]
It must be good co-owning your own record label, Kompakt co -owner Jürgen Paape hits us with a tasty piece, something different to the average run of the mill track. This is full of rhythm and body with plenty of groove, more of a slow tech groover with a very catchy riff all in all a very very nice piece of electronic music.

Magic Carpet Ride

Mighty Dub Katz - "Magic Carpet Ride 07" - (Claude Vonstroke Remix) - [Promo]

Start Tuesday off with something a little different its been 10 years since Norman cook aka (Fatboy Slim) aka (Mighty Dub Katz) ,Gave us the track that would then be featured on so many 18 -30s tv shows it got a place in the uk charts and actually did quite well in ibiza, with it being the theme music to the Ibiza uncovered show way back in 97, anyway because of it being 10 years old he has brought it back out with a remix package Which will be dropping on his own [southern fried records] sometime in may i think this is the best entry from (Claude Vonstroke) 11 mins long the other being from the (Young Punx) its all very wrong indeed expect the likes of switch & jesse rose etc to be dropping this on a dancefloor near you .
