That's right folks. Our pretty domain with the hosting is down. In the mean time randts.blogspot.com is up. We are not sure how we will proceed with this. We might bring the domain up or we might not. Hopefully we will be able to get all the data back in one way or another. Either by importing it to this place, someplace else or.. yeah. We'll see.

Update, 2009-03-19: Looks like we will be chipping in to get the server and domain up and running again. So be on the lookout for randomcircuits.com's rise from the ashes.

Barem - So serial [M_NUS, 2007]
It's funny how the two best tracks of this EP (Never better than late) isn't even on the vinyl, but rather released as mp3 only. Ears and So serial here beats the other three tracks by a large margin. My opinion of course. So Serial builds up steadily with a lot of echoes and wet percussive sounds, all the while you're waiting for the release to come. After 3 minutes the bass kicks in properly and lends, by now much needed, momentum to the track. Pure goodness from the M_NUS camp.

Plasmik -(Interswap The Remixes Volume One) -"Subertubos" (Matt O'Brien Remix) [Connaisseur Recordings]

Four new remixes from last years biggest EP for Connaisseur , Are ready and raring to go.
Interswap by Plasmik was easily there biggest release last year, so now its time for the remixes and they come in the shape of Matt O'Brien (Which we have here) Afrilounge, Claude VonStroke & Minz.
As its in two parts we will just be reviewing the first part for today.
Matt O'Brien does great things for supertubos it sounds like its a late 90's techno record with its shattering synths and deep bass.
He gives it a really good make over adding a few special touches the background riff sounds like a continuous flock of chickens squawking, but its all about the deep pads and synths for me, expect alot of techno DJ's to be dropping this bomb on a dance floor near you.
Next up is Afrilounge they take on Mindpattern still on a deep vibe but on more of a house tip its a very cool slow burner that opens out and will suprise you with deep strings and a trance like melody.
Quality first part im looking forward to the next.

After Theevanhood posted a youtube clip of this track, it stuck to my head. A friend (yo Hansa!) finally dug it up and it's mezmerising. What an old(ish) hit.

Edit: This friday I shall visit The Eye again. It was a while ago, since I've sort of boycotted them after they stopped booking nice acts and just went on with the routinely and steady declining in quality resident nights. This friday is different though, after cancelling in december The UK man and producer Radio Slave is finally going to bless Gothenburg with his presence. It will be intense.

Second life

Yapacc - Second Life -[Wir]

Second life has everything, it starts of with a thick and fast groove accompanied by the deep and tripped out vocal patter telling you "Somethings coming up" and "Its not like i thought it would be" Are these references to the track in question? They just well could be as you will find out. This track has alot more layers to give and were only at the beginning. Its been laced in funk from top to bottom.Yes! this is big it starts of wonky deep and disorientating but eventually opens out with trancey melodies and a really good deep work out. I wasn't expecting this but I'm glad it heads off this way it keeps hitting you with underground funk keeping the offside vocal present at the right time, it adds to the record perfectly. Suddenly it breaks out into a all out funk a thon so great, energising & very fresh.

Highly recommended.

Jerome Sydenham & Tiger Stripes - Elevation (Radio Slave's One More Kiss Remix) [Ibadan, 2008] (d/l, d/l)
Three big producers collide in a sweaty techno excursion. Sydenham and Tiger Stripes' Elevation anthem is pierced by the man who never sleep, Radio Slave's functionalists ideas. The result is a floor whooping, big, sick and most definetly dancable massacre. Detroit vibes all over this superb remaking. Like a true master, Radio slave fulfills all expectations. The rest of this intense remix package is of equal standards; Ink & needle, Argy, Kobayashi and the original creators all lend their magic fingers to stir F12 and Elevation into something different.

Kabale Und Liebe & Daniel Sanchez - Mumbling Yeah Remixes -[Remote Area]

Unless you were living under a rock last summer or don't go out much i reckon its safe to say, at some point you will of heard Dj's spinning a track with a strange man (Daniel Sanchez) mumbling on top of a deep minimal tribal beat.

That just so happened to be one of the big hitters of the summer everyone was getting there mumble on from Richie and Ricardo to Sebo k and Loco Dice there's no denying it everyone was rinsing.

The Youtube page of Villalobos & Luciano dropping it at DC10 has had its fair share of views http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=b9nIS8LM40Q rightfully so as well.

Its just so catchy and wrong,

So wrong its right thats what makes it so good.

When the first bars of the track come through the speakers of the club in the early hours its instantly greeted by whistles and cheers, you feel like you shouldn't really be here at 5-6am listening to strange men mumbling.

Whilst the sweat drips of the walls onto your aching body you look around the tiny club everyone is on the same vibe the dance floor is packed out and everyone is united in dance.

I cant remember a track of this kaliber being so influential it really does strange things to the party goers.

The last time i remember a track causing this much wow factor was when Audion - Mouth To Mouth was released its in a different vein to that but you get the idea.

Mumbling yeah will be on the roster of many DJ's lists for a long time to come and i applaud that.

DJ's have loved it so much that they have remixed it be it Loco Dice & Marco Carola official remixes or Richie Hawtin's Dex n efx remix.

Loco Dice keeps the main part intact but goes alot deeper and its more strung out, deep tribal drums and whooshes from the synths make it a dance floor bomb,& when you add his version of the twisted vocals you cant fail, instant moment(of madness) on the floor its been tried and tested all over Leeds and it never fails even the wall flowers and the too cool for school kids prick up there ears and head to the floor.

Marco Carola Goes even deeper and minimal and the outcome is quite fantastic its almost a re rub but not quite il let you decide on which you prefer.

One thing is for sure i will be mumbling long into 2008.

It's that time again, people. Time to dust off some real classic tracks and reminiscing. Not one of Model 500's earliest, but still a proper legendary track which first appeared on the Deep Space LP. Juan Atkins for president!

I did, indeed attend Aril Brikha playing at Jeriko in Malmö this saturday. It was quite good, he played a lot from his album (Ex Machina) of course (which isn't his best work imo). The audience was feeling it and the atmosphere was great. Nice evening all in all. The projected visuals were quite boring and not synched at all though.

Its more of a subtle groove, more percussion and a little deeper but equally as good

Gavin Herlihy -'Praia Brava' - [True To Form]

You may recognise Gavin Herlihy name from his stint at Mixmag as one of the editors his writing was very good i especially liked his three page spread on DC10 last year.

He's decided to give the journalism a rest and done what alot of journalists are doing by putting his hand to producing this isn't the first of Gavin's work either check Machine Ate My Homework for some peak time tech house business.

With Praia Brava he goes alot deeper and more house orientated it keeps you on your toes with deep tribal drums and a panic stricken swirling, it chugs along nicely eventually bringing in a Latin influenced melody so catchy you will be humming it all day.

The flip is a club friendly dub from Jesse Rose.

Buy this release if your looking for something original and a bit different.

Great mixtape from Surgeon. This is a wonderful one hour showcase of techno's more experimental sides. Dabbling with the very fringes of the dance sound, as one would suspect when it's released on Warp. Brutal waves of murderous textures blended with occassional glimpses of artful melodies. The first half of this is really quite something, I recognize most of the tracks but they all got a new costume courtesy of Surgeon and his blending techniques. Quality all they way through. More of the Cadenza influenced sound this is more for the dancefloor though and its really good i haven't been able to stop playing it since i got it.

Just wait till the violins come in, it has a really good breakdown which will make your set stand out from the rest.

Drop it as the sun is coming up to bring in the daytime that's what we did the other night at my friends house party it was a spiritual moment as the cold winters sunlight crept through the gap in the curtains.

There's 2 other tracks to this EP but personally i favour this one.

The A side is "after the sky is good" but it lacks that special ingredient.

The other one is a track that Luciano has been opening on "Copiii lui Luciano" - it features children singing in some sort of choir its very good on top of a cool piano riff and timbales playing in the background.

The perfect way to start your set if your going down the whole Cadenza route & are looking for some originality.

Copiii Lui Luciano also sounds very familiar to the upcoming Cadenza split, (Ricardo Villalobos feat. Christian Vander - Baba Yaga).

All in all its a fresh sounding EP.

This Ep represents a unreasonable and animated flight that Sarah Goldfarb took From N.Y and Las Vegas in August 2007.

24 Dollars was produced just before the flight from New York.

Its real hypnotic & tribal a proper crowd burner the floor is going to love it, causing alot of tension in the room it builds and then explodes violently.

On the B side is one hundred and Ten Fahrenheit some say its what the temperature was in Las Vegas. Maybe? All i know is that if you thought there was tension on the a side this side really goes to town. Are you all fastened in and sitting in the upright position!?

Its almost as if there's a stop clock going and your sat in your seat waiting for all hell to break loose.

Its not long before the vibrations of the plane explode and the temperature rises to boiling point, its like an emergency alarm going off in your head building around an evil acid breakdown, it repeats itself and just continues to blow your mind, its uncomfortable but at the same time very enjoying.

VJ session of the day

Alright. After about one million recordings of me VJing with VDMX to this track, I'm dead tired of it. The ridiculous amount of takes needed was because I was clueless as to what codec and settings to record with. I ended up just importing one of the earliest takes into iMovie and re-encoding it. Thus the half-assed quality. Next one will be better, promise.

Some details for the interested. The effects are made in Quartz Composer, I just fooled around some since I'm not very experienced with it yet. Then I hooked my composition up with some lovely VDMX controls and basically just went at it. Recorded with iShowU.

Nico Purman* - Tuesday -[Vakant]

This could be used a real dance floor weapon if used at the right time.

It reminds me of Fed On Youth not as killer as that but its not far off.

Nico uses distant sub bass to cause a catastrophic wave of sound, that will destroy clubs at 5am.

Mind you, you wont feel the full force of the track until its played out, its definitely more for club speakers than ones at home.

He loops the sound so deep it makes my windows shake its very hypnotic and Erie.

Its a dubbed out voyage into the unknown deep.

Muela pain on the flip is another fine piece of dark atmospheric techno.

This EP mustn't be slept on KILLER!

The REKIDS boss strikes again. As usual he doesn't hold back when unleashing his tasty remix proddings on a track. 12 minutes this time, Ewan Pearson's alias Partial Arts' track "Telescope" gets the treatment. Have a listen and judge this one by yourself. I didn't like it at first, but it needs some attention and a few listens before settling into my brain.

Vacaciones En Cile

IlarioAlicante - "Vacaciones En Cile" -[N/A]

All i know about this track is that its by a upcoming young Italian producer.

He takes his influences from the Cadenza record label and artists like Ricardo Villalobos and it shows very well.

Its so homegrown i can see this being played in a courtyard by the olive trees there's a dog laying in the shade trying to keep cool,the old folks are drinking wine and playing chess,Mothers in the kitchen making food, its a beautiful scene.

If you use your imagination you can almost taste the wine and feel the sun burning your neck as your sat there by that olive tree.

Its very Latin /Chilean influenced, so beautiful the way it comes together opening up like a flower in spring.

The strings are some of the best I've heard expect everyone to be dropping this.

I think its getting signed to a label soon there's been a bit of controversy over the whole thing.

Don't sleep on this.

Death is nothing to fear

DINTF - (Ep) -[Spectral Sound]

The new DINTF EP dropped the other day on Spectral Sound.

This time they have focused there attentions on there freshest new talent like Jonas Kopp, Kate Simko, Daso & Pawas and more.

Its 5 tracks of minimal techno all of which have been done right they have all the elements needed, be it deep and dark a good sub- bass and a good melody, all the tracks are worthy of your money but they are a couple that stand out in the shadows.

Jonas Kopp's"Androgeno" takes off where he left off with his remix of Plan Tec - Espias Psoquicos P. Deep swirling hypnotic techno.

This guy reminds me alot of Audion, one to Keep an eye on is Jonas Kopp.

Next up is Daso & Pawas who are firing on all cylinders at the moment be it on solo projects or joint efforts like this.

They go for the deep tribal drums and a very cool melodic riff its a sort of sub bass melody very catchy and quite unique.

Kate Simko is next up to the stage with a deep and minimal take on house. Its very good I especially like the way it opens out all rhythmic, blending minimal and deeper more melodic - house elements perfectly.

Make way for Seth Troxler probably my least favourite on the EP. To me it doesn't have the same unique flair as the other 4 do, still you can form your own opinion when you buy it.

Then last but certainly not least is a artist called Kill who rounds things off nicely with some evil minimal techno.

Spectral Sound have started 2008 very well indeed if you like your techno with added bite this EP is for you.

Instead of studying for my algorithms exam tomorrow I've been procrastinating, pro style, like a real slacker. Fiddling around with various small projects and basically doing anything but cramming.

Stars Of The Lid vs Red Robin & Jakob Hilden - Humectez La Mouture vs Lazy Jack (skypher's edit) [N/a, 2007]
This is me trying to combine Stars of the lid's absolutely stunning song into some sort of "emotech" (haha) thing by using Red Robin & Jakob Hilden's Lazy Jack track for drums. It isn't really that well made, but I certainly dig the final product anyway. Have a listen will ya, and tell me what you think. I'm having serious Ableton Live cravings, was too long since I produced now...

While we're at it, I might as well post something small I put together from some of my processing code accompanied with a track I did. The outcome wasn't expected though; my computer couldn't handle the (real-time) calculation of each frame while simultaneously playing the music and recording to the disk, thus the sound got heavily distorted. I still like the result though: Attractoria.

Johannes Heil - Meta [Metatron, 2007] (d/l)
Three track December EP from Mr Heil, The Coming, which marks the first release on the new label Metatron (Heil's own? Anyone know?). A1, the title track, smoothly launches the EP with some atmospherics and build ups with processed vocal samples. It leads us into A2 which got my attention properly, Meta is a smattering story with a steady beat and bass. The familiar sounds from A1 dips in and out of the track to further thicken the song. The last offering on this outing is Tronic which feels a bit more fast paced and frantic.

ASC - The pursuit [Nerve, 2008] (d/l)
I rarely post drum n bass, mostly because I don't know much about it and I don't listen to it that often. Here's an exception. The pursuit is something that sounds original and well thought out, still with pretty standard dnb samples and structures. This track goes from normal to calm to aggressive. My cup of d&b. Anyone well versed in the genre and want to recommend something? I'm all ears in the comments section.

Ben Klock - October [BPitch, 2008] (d/l)
Allien's imprint launches the brand new year known as 2008 with Ben Klock's October twelve. Massive stomping brute of a release. The a-side is all blocky and chunky drums, not too heavy, but nicely crude sounding. The groove soon settles and it is hard not to nod your head or move your legs to this one as it continues to shake itself into a feverishly tight rhythm. When the quiet melody fades in, it all makes sense and this fresh track comes full circle. On the other side we have another grim tune, slightly more on the evil side. Stripped down, percussion style, Similarity foresees a dark future. Impressive, Klock! I am sorry to say I haven't followed this producer much, seems I have to pick up the slack. BPitch Control off on a great '08 start, keep em coming.

And now onto something unelectronic for a change. I recently saw Wes Anderson's latest film; The Darjeeling Limited at the cinemas. What a great movie! As I've come to expect from Anderson's work it was accompanied with a perfectly fitting soundtrack. This track in particular caught my ears, and I've been humming along to it since. Beautifully crafted, old pop gem. Joe Dassin - Les Champs-Élysée from the end credits is another masterful tune from the soundtrack I wholeheartedly recommend.

This will be released the fifth of february. Hot chip's third full lengther, called "Made In The Dark". Here's the second song, promo soiled, and it's a weird blend atleast compared to their previous sound. Almost a bit grimey in some parts, this is a nugget with vocals. Looking forward to the album - a safe buy when it's available.

I was browsing Myspace yesterday and came across this label Ostwind Records a label which was new to me and had somehow managed to let it slip under the net i couldn't recall anyone else mentioning this label or any of its releases.

Which at the time from the great music i was hearing i found strange.

Straight away i was into its back catalogue with a fine tooth comb going from site to site on myspace looking up most of the producers who have had there music put out by the label.

I was most impressed there back cat reads very well but sounds even better, I was still left scratching my head why this label has had no hype and no light shone on it, i mean not even a pocket torch amount of light.

So on with the music there seems to be a theme on Ostwind Records there "Maximal to Minimal" theme.

Yes its deep house meets minimal but its done with so much care and accuracy there is a distinct Chicago house vibe running through some of there records check
LePetri "I Can Even Remember" for the pick of the bunch.

The music i was listening too reminded me of Mountain People especially the track I'm giving you today.

Der Fischer Und Siene Fru is a really fresh and clean sounding track.

It goes deep with cool percussion and wonderful rhythm using alot of wood instruments and blending them with the deep bass perfectly.

The flip goes deeper and is even more percussive, it sounds like something from the 80's (in the best way possible)

I cant wait for both these to be played out, expect to hear more from this label in the coming months in the meantime i suggest you check out there previous releases.

Hypnotic minimal techno now from Knor.

I cant find anything on Knor apart from the fact he's on this split ep with Digitaline.

They're track "Hum Hum" is very bland, and doesn't really go anywhere.

However every cloud has a silver lining and this silver lining comes in the form of,

Roc(k)ambolesque.

Its really good full of stuttering melody and deep rhythm, and a distorted vocal it certainly sounds very fresh.

Once again we find it falls into the deep house / minimal bracket

Don't sleep on this if only for the b side.

MLZ* -'M-Brane' -[Modern Love]

Sometimes Dub techno can fall on deaf ears, be it too bland or just not working for me

When done right you can have something very special.

For example Habitual Stress EP or The Massacre EP.

These both tick all the right boxes,

Andy Stott's Modern Love label has been a favorite of mine since hearing the showcase on the breeze block a few years back.

Since then its come on leaps and bounds, as this latest one shows us its from MLZ* who you may know as Miles Whittaker, also part of the Pendle Coven outfit.

M-Brane the title track really does it for me its what techno should be about.

Paint a picture in your mind that your working with metal in some sort of warehouse in the year 2025.

Robots are working side by side of you, and all you can hear is this (hopefully what your listening to now)

If robots had a anthem this would be it.

Its too hard to put into words just listen then BUY!

Its amazingly good.

Sian continues his run to form with his "Wear your scars like a medal" 'EP'

The title track is a deep and techy monster that bubbles subtly, eventually breaking free and exploding violently all over the dance floor causing a huge ruckus.

The Roland Appel remix has much more going on its more deeper and less techy.

It oozes class and sophistication gliding along at a good pace its full of rhythm and melody.

The keys play an important part as do the background instruments working together fantastically.

Both tracks on this EP are 5*

I'm just feeling the Remix a little more.

Reboot (3) -'Letters' -[Cadenza]

The latest cadenza See's Reboot give us his take on the ever evolving cadenza sound.

Its a two track EP from what you may class as a typical "Cadenza sound" Drums, percussion, Latin influences & tribal.

Be Tougher on the A side does just that its much more of a tougher workout but manages to incorporate deep tribal elements and the all important Latin style that cadenza have become known for.

It has something homegrown about it using timbales and glocks among other wood instruments, its very ethnic and works well maybe more as a tool? I'm still on the fence only time will tell.

Letters takes things up a notch with its layers of percussion that blend perfectly into the deep and jazzy keys.Eventually spiraling and warping your mind just before the tribal chanting comes in which makes the record if you ask me.

Both are great records but if i had to choose one it would be Letters.

Go buy the release and decide for yourself.

Ive been slipping alot of tracks like this into my sets of late.

Mixing it with deep house it works a treat, its sort of minimal with electrified melodies and vibrant percussion

M.A.N.D.Y. come good with the two remixes theres a dub remix which i find rather bland, compared to the terrace remix.

Its a hard one to describe with its mechanically modified melodies and shuffled percussion

It has elements of tribal & jazz.

It will be sure to put a spark into your set when you drop this, expect the unexpected.

A very cool record.

Andreas Heiszenberger -Perfect Moment -(Efdemin's Crémant De Cramant Mix) [Brut!]

Efdemin's remix of Perfect moment is a real nice piece of work.

It meanders through deep house and minimal, its my favourite remix on the 'EP' as it doesn't use any of the robotic vocals, like the original and the Nass remix.

Its a journey into the deep on your way you pass through great percussion, and calm but cool waves of programming.

It keeps you on your toes as at the 3:50 mark it changes direction and rapidly becomes more minimal, flooding your head with a sea of bleeps,

Not for too long mind you, Back in comes the soothing & floaty keys as you continue this journey into the unknown.

It certainly is a 10min "Perfect Moment"

Favorite Finn Hulkonnen, also one part of the Discemi duo. Here with an all new EP called "Rave 2.0" as his alias The Fenno Baron. Smashing as it should be. I'm feeling this, reminds me of some Tomas Andersson productions in a way. Head on, no fuss, dance music.

Edit: Good news about 2008: Autechre is releasing a new album on the third of march called Quaristice. What strikes me is the number of tracks though, twenty songs crammed into an album when usually they go with about ten. Interesting!

Joel Mull - Harmonautic String - [Cocoon Recordings]

I'm really enjoying this track theres alot going on but it all fits in to place so well.

It floats majestically like a kite caught up in the wind.

Full of techy layers & wonderful melodies, so many i cant keep up.

It peaks at the 4 min mark with a vortex like swirling motion, not for long though it gives way for the ghostly strings and the ping ponging keys, then it comes back in again.

Blossom on the flip is more new wave trance its good but the stand out track is definitely Harmonautic String.

Tumble Blur sits somewhere between deep and tech house.

Its full of deep tech sounds which have balanced out beautifully with deep & techy chords its dark, sexy and groovy.

The Gospelic like calls are bound to have ears twitching as if there calling you to the dance floor.

Its a real solid groove that's bound to have the floor where it wants them.

Expect this to cross over to deeper floors aswell as more minimal orientated ones.

Adult only are celebrating there 30th release with this ep and what a way to do it.

Collaboration between Buck 65 and Greetings from Tuskan. Watch out for the upcoming More heart than brains album. The production on this tune is just stunning, couple that with Buck's rugged voice and fine lyrics and we have ourself a winner. Much recommended.

Steve Lawler 'Violet' - (October's Caravan mix) - [Promo]

October's mix is the standout on this EP, all though saying that the other three including the original are also very good.

His mix is in between techno and Dub or as he likes to call it "Organic techno"

We cant disagree either there is something very home grown about this piece.

Nothing artificial here,

He gets straight down to business, It opens up with a beautiful deep and dubby melody from the keys of the piano /Organ.

Twisting and turning throughout expect the unexpected its a good ride to be on and it never loses focus.

Its really good!

It should be out soon along with a remix from Bushwacka! & Livio and Roby black.

All in all theres something for everyone.

We cant simply keep up with all the releases here at RC it would be impossible.

Some times we might write a draft out and then totally forget about it.

Until now that is, with 2007 nearly at an end we have some music that we didn't have time to post.

Its both old and new if you class 6 months as old and less than a month as new.

Call it a catch up, its mainy of the Dubstep variety / experimental / techno.

Some dark beats for these cold & dark nights.

Another reason is i need more room in my folder but I'm a hoarder and i cant bring myself to delete music so i would rather see it go to a good home than be sent to the big recycle bin in the sky...

Bukaddor & Fishbeck - Mantikor [Traum, 2008] (d/l)
Cologne based duo Baggy Bukaddor and Tim Fishbeck has had quite a productive year with three twelves on My Best Friend and here's their fourth, now on Traum. This twelver with the two tracks Sceada and Mantikor will not be released officially until the 7th of january 2008. No doubt a good kickstart for the next year. Sceada is a real beauty, consisting of thought out and varied melodies, with catchy basslines and proper percussion, this one will surely be enjoyed by many. The b-side is Mantikor. A Manticore has the body of a lion, a human head with three rows of teeth and either a dragon's or scorpion's tail. Scary. Well this track lets the listener onboard a ship for 10 minutes of trippy riding through the minds of Bukaddor and Fishbeck with the mythic creature as the only other passenger. Like a high pressure tempest, it's lethally dangerous. A tough call choosing a song here, but I'm going with Mantikor for its slightly more straight forward ways. Buy when it is available!

Tiger Stripes - My Deep Space Part One -Sven Weisemann deep space mix [ProgCity Deep Trax]

2007 has undoubtedly been the year of the deep house revival.

With everyone opting for piano's and deep dubby cuts.

Two of 2007 biggest new house names go at it in this deep and dubbed out space mix

Its a bit like Len Faki's sound as if he had been smoking weed its alot more chilled but still very powerful.

Weisemann's remix is sparse dark and dubby but at the same time he allows space for some light to shine through.

It opens up so well deep clicks and a deep duubed out lunar piano is the main focus with murmurs of vocals coming through every so often.

Its a really nice piece and is limited to a 500 only vinyl press so be quick on this one.

Bruno Pronsato - At Home I'm A Tourist -[Hello? Repeat]

One of the last great records of 2007, this went down a storm at the after party on friday night.

Bruno Pronsato delivers such a wonderful piece in this limited 1 sided piece of plastic.

At Home I'm a Tourist is a delve into electronic music at its very best it takes in techno and classical and welds them together, its a fantastic journey of just under 10 mins taking in plucked strings violent hand claps, deep percussion reverberating synth lines and a deep work out from the brass family.

It just keeps getting better and better this is without doubt one of the tracks of the year.

What a way to sign off on 2007 i don't think there is going to be any more stand out records this year.

So stand up and raise a glass to a brilliant year of electronic music.

2007 we salute you may 2008 be even better.

Various - Four Seasons EP -H.O.S.H. 'Drums Of Spring' -[Diynamic Music]

Another label that has been outstanding this year is Diynamic Music

What a great way to Finnish 2007 with a four track ep by some of 2007's freshest new talent.

H.O.S.H who goes all out on a deep tribal excursion complete with an African chant with 'Drums Of Spring'.

Gruber* & Nürnberg - 'Floating cloud in summer' is expertly crafted fresh and forward thinking house music.

Stimming* '1000 Words In Autumn' goes for the sticks and stones approach and pulls it off excellently

Last but not least is Solomun with 'Second Kiss In Winter' which calms things down with a beautifully crafted light but deep finish to 2007.

I could of quite easily posted all four tracks they all stand out and are fabulous.

Diynamic Music are going to be even bigger in 08 a label to watch very closely.

Fish in water

Masaya - Little Brothers E.P. -(Like a fish in water original) - [Meerestief Limited]

Masaya has quickly made a name for herself with her big summer ep El Choquero EP .

Which was released on one of the labels of the year Perspectiv. And can boast quality remixes from Agnès & Sam K.

Then there was her remix of Lucy - 'Glass Computer' Which i thought was arguably the best apart from the original itself.

Her latest is a solid 3 track ep on Meerestief Limited which includes a nice remix from Nhar

Like A Fish In Water is what it must be like to be submerged 1000's of feet below sea level it rolls along deep but calmly its very aquatic.

Don't underestimate the power of this track it could be used as a tool as well.

You get that feeling that you could be in a submarine with no pressure floating past huge corals.

Nhar goes even deeper but adds a vocal and a few strange popping noises.

The other track is MS.Darcy which is totally the opposite to both track and remix still aquatic, alot more calmer its more floating down the river than lost in the Pacific.

All in all a great EP.

Check out this latest EP by Marcel Dettmann & Ben Klock on Ostgut Tonträger which is the record label of Berlin's Berghain club.

Its really good proper late night dubby techno highlights are Scenario, Places like this & Renumber.

Theres also a really good, extended & DJ friendly version of last years big underground hit and one of my personal faves of the whole year.

Dawning Which has had a slight makeover, it has a real Radio Slave vibe about it.

Its a dark builder and the outcome is great.

The two Berliners Format: B will be playing there blend of tech house and all things dark and minimal.

And of course i cant forget the residents.

Last but not least is a regular face behind the decks Geddes who will be plugging his new ep Trial & Error which is really good and comes complete with a H.O.S.H remix.

Good start!

Even more good news is that he has decided to send for the cavalry on his remix of improper bringing in Damian Schwartz, Martin Buttrich.

Also Tadeo gives his take on things which you can find on a separate white label.

Buttrich shows off his other persona, by going all deep hypnotic and minimal.

He uses Alex's signature beats in a swirling motion adding layers of melodies and a growling sub bass on top of the vocals.

The track progresses really well, by building and getting more loopy and melodic.

Mathias Kaden's remix of 'Rugby' is probably one of my favorite remixes this year.

It starts off as it means to continue hitting you with a slow tribal conga.

The drums play such an important part in this remix as they do in alot of kadens other releases

Myal EP.

This is no run of the mill remix though it has everything it builds effortlessly,

with such style & charisma. You don't know what to expect as a smooth saxophone lick comes in only to be brought back out again, then brought back in again on top of the drums. Its almost as if there's a sacrifice about to happen and this is the calm before the storm.

Excellent release don't hesitate in buying this.

Bart Skils & Anton Pieete AKA District One - 'The Shining' -(Rejected Remix) [100% Pure]

Time for some house! Its that Deep house in between Minimal sound that's been big over the summer.

This is one of the best coming out of Holland.

Its deep and dark with cool atmospherics and excellent production work.

But fear not those of you not keen on minimal this never sways to just the one side of either minimal or house it keeps tiltering but never falls of balance.

It builds with excellent percussion and deep ambient vocals which get more intense as the song continues.

Its been remixed by Rejected and there input is crucial as the remix is the one that makes the package.

The original is alot more tribal than deep house.

Personally its the Rejected mix that stands out the most for me and may i add both the original and the remix have been mastered by 2000 And One* so you know what to expect, no sloppy production or slack timing.

This is top class house music not to be passed by.

Erratic static mix

Another mix of mine. About 40 minutes of genre crashing, this one is all over the place. New tracks, old ones, chill styles, dancefloor tunes, upbeat shit, mainstream sugar flirts, wonky experimentalism - all of it fighting for your attention. The inspiration came from P3 Dans (a national radio show) which always manages to blend some of the most awkward things together perfectly. Traffic circle

Marco Resmann - Traffic Circle -[Upon.You]

This is without doubt my favourite release on Upon.You A label set up by Marco Resmann aka Phage and also a part time member of Pan-Pot.

Traffic circle is so stylish and cool its definitely what I'm feeling at the moment its dark but house orientated at the same time its that late night /early morning after party sound.

It starts of with a haunting cry of a woman and her baby in comes the thud of the zig zagging drums as it starts to slowly build.

The background noises stay ambient but iree.

In comes the piano building and building, more atmospherics in the background give it a haunting stripped back feeling.

The keys from the piano eventually get so violent that they explode bringing you crashing back down to the earth only to start all over again.

This is going to destroy clubs on a large system the outcome will be fantastic, drop this in your set and its going to get a good reaction.

After their recent long player on Cocoon, Pig and Dan (= Igor Tchkotoua together with Dan Duncan) is back with a new twelve. Magic Valley is a deep, poignant mover, with its share of bizarreness (horse neigh, what the hell?). Together with the steady beat there is a hypnotic melody loop overlayed. The result is a bit creepy.

Heres a nice up coming release from BPitch Control courtsey of Kiki.

Dancing Graffiti is a Über Chic deep funky drum track that is very catchy.

It kicks things off big with lots of "oblong bass" bringing a continuous ear piercing ringing sound in which sounds like someone ringing a bell, He then drops lots of spaced out bleeps into the mix as the ringing gets more hypnotic and the drums continue to embed themselves in your head.

it Carry's on like this repeating itself.

Its a cool track to drop and wouldn't sound out of place on REKIDS or even Poker Flat Recordings.On the flip is a remix by Berlin duo Zander VT.

The original mix of this track http://randts.blogspot.com/2007/06/zugunruhe-tides.html was released back in June on the mixed Various - Grand Cru 2007 on Connaisseur Recordings.

Which i liked alot but this remix which we have here takes things two steps further...

OK i lie its more like two steps and a massive jump.

Its had a fabulous reworking by Daniel Stefanik who you may know from his releases on Moon Harbour Recordings and other well known labels.

He takes the mix on a long (11 min) drawn out journey its very sticks and stones at the start think Cadenza .It gradually builds coming together beautifully & climaxing with a soft luscious piano riff you almost float away whilst listening to the birds on some tropical paradise far far away.

Its on promo now but i reckon it will be coming out in the not so distant future.

Herr Eulberg with a fresh long player filled with mostly new tracks, finally more biology/park-ranger techno! 'Bionik' is oftentimes a bit quirky, quickly followed by the most serene and beautiful melodic sequences. Awkward drum patterns with sprinkled glitchesque sound effects in a contrived and confined space gets lifted up by the celestial, organic tones coming from the nearest plants. Rewarding to listen to. And while I've now heard the album back to back for 10+ times, I am still not certain about my verdict on this one. Tricksy, Eulberg, tricksy.
